Apparently you can use the angel sounds doppler from 10 weeks - i have read some reviews on this doppler and it takes a few tries until you can hear the heart beat! Don't give up, just keep trying :) It will all be worth it when your further along and panicking that little bump hasn't kicked all morning and you can tune straight into baby FM!

PS are you using the gel with it? Probably a stupid question but just making sure :)

I think you have to be further along before a home doppler will pick up the heartbeat.

Awe, don't worry. It is possible that you are just to early. Some people don't hear the heartbeat until around 18 - 22 weeks.

The baby will be low, very low right now, around your pubic bone or possible underneath.

The heart beat will be around 120 - through 160.

The heart beat is quite fast at that stage(a bit thrash metal speed), so it would probably sound like noise when you first find it.
When we had our scans the midwife went theres the heart beat, and I thought really ???
Apparently its sometimes easier to find the heart beat if using the probe from the back, so you might need someone to help.

i had a monitor when i was pregnant i could hear it from about 16 weeks, but it depends the position you baby is, how much fat you have, i was size 4-6 uk size before pregnant and not showing when i could hear the heartbeat. but the instructions on thye one i had said it could take upto 20 weeks. can you feel any movements yet? try moving the monitor slowly around you adomin may take a while to hear it espeacilly at this early stage.
babys heartbeat is a lot faster than yours and will sound like its further away.

There are many factors that could be affecting your chances of hearing the heartbeat, such as position of uterus, position of baby, the size you are...many many factors. Alot of people don't hear a heartbeat until around 18-24 weeks. I remember my GP wasn't keen on trying to hear it until i was around 18 weeks because he didnt want to cause a panic lol.

I have one of the machines and couldnt hear anything until i was around 28 weeks so it really does depend on the individual!

good luck with your pregnancy sweetie!

Hi my midwife told me off and said to put the doppler away and forget I have it! She said the amount of phone calls they receive from worried mums- to- be as they cant find a heart beat when all is fine. It takes a little skill to find th babies heart rate at this stage so dont stress to much if you dont find it, also if you have alot of fluid then this could make it more difficult. Give it a few more weeks and you will feel movement so you will not think so much about wanting to find a heartbeat. At my 16 weeks checkup the midwife found my babies heart beat by putting the doppler to the left side, hope this helps xx
