I heard baby's heartbeat at 8 weeks for a few seconds, then the battery died, by the time i changed them i couldn't find it anymore. But at 9 week i heard it again. After that i have no problem hearing it. It just took a little time to find in the early weeks. But now at 18 weeks i just put it to my tummy and there it is! Usually though heartbeats are heard from 12weeks, but if you are thin to begin with you can hear it earlier, as was the case for me. BTW i bought mine for $65. And it's as good as the ones doctors have. you don't need 1 that costs 1000 to be good. I bought mine from ebay. He said unless you're willing to spend about $1000 on one like theirs, they dont work very well. From the ones I have seen, most say they can be used in the late 2nd trimester or early 3rd trimester.. Anything before that will be too early. I considered buying one but now decided not to.
