Make sure that you are buying an actual doppler and not a fetal listener. Any doppler will be better at picking up sounds than just a listener, which will only work in the third trimester. Dopplers work after 10 weeks gestation or so. I can’t give specific names of dopplers because I haven’t had much experience with them, but I did buy a prenatal heart listener from a babies R us and it didn’t work. It says it can only be used in the third trimester to be able to hear anything.
I never bought a doppler but I heard a lot of women on here say they don’t work that good. Or if they do, you can usually hear the baby until late in your pregnancy.
Im gonna tell u what my doc told me, when the baby is too little sometimes u will hear it sometimes not, this will worrie u and u dont need stress, not good for the baby, he encouraged me to not get one. good luck
I bought one and it didn’t work very well until the end of the pregnancy and by that time you feel the baby moving and don’t need a doppler to hear the heartbeat. Also, a lot of doctors will advise against getting one b/c it causes a lot of undue stress when you can’t find the heartbeat due to inexperience.
Sorry I couldn’t help more.
I am 21 weeks and bought one, what a waste of money!!!
I can’t hear squat with the darn thing, I take that back, I can hear MY heartbeat…oh yippie.
I thought something was wrong and called the ob. He said that those things do not really work till you are real late in your 3rd trimester. My silly butt even bought the real expensive one!!! Should’ve bought ice cream and corn dogs…lol
