Fetal Doppler cannot hear the heartbeat?

I have a Hi Bebe I should be eight weeks. I tried using it today, I couldn’t hear the heartbeat but could see it displayed on the screen the beats a min. I could however hear what sounded like movement. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it just to soon to actually hear it?
This is the one I have

It isn’t too soon, but in the same time it is,lol! It depends on the person I guess and where the baby is located! Also, if you are heavier set then you may not hear the heartbeat for several weeks! I heard with my 2 youngest at 8 weeks but with the one I am carrying now I seen her at 10 weeks and she couldnt find the heart beat! I am now 30 weeks pregnant and her heartbeat is strong strong strong! It will show soon, congrats by the way!
probably too soon to tell. I think the doctors start using it from 10 weeks
My doctor said you normally cant hear it good until like 10-12 weeks. You are fine =]
its too soon. the Dr’s office ones usually cant pick up a heartbeat till around 12 weeks!! gl
Most of the time you cant hear it before 12 weeks. Drs usually wont even try to hear it before then, because not hearing it usually panics us worry wart pregnant women
If it is showing beats per minute, then thats probably a good thing. Just make sure you are checking in the right place, the baby is still really low in the uterus, behind the pelvic bone, so if you are checking too high, you probabyl hear your digestion. When I heard my little guy move on the doppler, it sounded like… A ninja sword lol. It didnt sound like how i expected it to sound.
Even the doctors often can’t pick up the heartbeat using their own machine until 13 weeks or so. They usually don’t even start trying until 10 weeks, but even at that point, they say not to worry if nothing is heard yet.
Even the dopplers that doctors have sometimes have a hard time hearing a consistant heart beat until about 10 weeks gestation. I wouldnt worry until there is no heartbeat at say a 12 week appointment. I didnt hear my sons heartbeat until 11 weeks pregnant and with this pregnancy I didnt hear her heart beat until 10 weeks.
lol, im sure all is ok.
I would not worry.I didn’t get to hear the heart beat until i was 20wks.The baby is just not big enough.
It is quite difficult to get a heartbeat with the doppler prior to 10 weeks. Yes, you can hear it and the doppler can "read" it…if the nurse/tech knows what they are doing and have a lot of experience. Even then, it can be missed.
Do not worry. Not hearing the heartbeat on the doppler is common.
I think it might be too soon. I used one at 10+4 and I was so excited I thought I had the heartbeat then for my sister to tell me it was my own… then did a little more searching and after an hour I found it you need to aim it REALLY low down into your pelvis…
I got so worried I went 2 days without using it and when I used it again I couldnt find it for a couple of days then realised it was alot higher up than it had been as I was almost 12 weeks thats when your uterus starts to move up and out of your pelvis…
So dont panic if you cant find it. I got rid of mine as soon as I started feeling movements.

It’s too early. Especially if you’re trying to use it yourself. Try again at around 12 weeks. Also, I can’t remember what it’s called (if I had the same thing you have) but I got mine at Babies-R-Us for about $30 or so and it didn’t not work at all. It was a total waste of money. If you have the same thing I bought you may never hear the heartbeat with it. Congrats on your baby!
no offense but that thing is a piece of shit i have one and i still cant hear my babies heartbeat with it and im 19 weeks.i brought it to my doctors visit and they tried it and then theres and right away they found the heartbeat on theres.most of those at home listeners dont work until the third trimester.but you can rent a good fetal doppler online for 20 a month or lower just google it good luck
Don’t worry, some babies are hard to get a heartbeat from at 8 weeks. At this stage, doctors typically use an ultrasound so they can see the heart beating. The doppler is used after 10-12 weeks. Some babies move a lot in the womb, so it can be difficult to get a heartbeat. My daughter was so squirmy, even in my third trimester they had difficulty finding a heartbeat.
On a good fetal doppler you can hear it at 12 weeks. Although my midwife wouldnt even try till 16 weeks as even sometimes then its to early. When i say this i dont mean any offence but also your not trained to find it so it would be harder.
It’s too soon!
I have a fetal doppler (different brand) and it says you can hear heartbeat around 20weeks+.
I’m also 8 weeks pregnant… and at this stage, the fetus is about 2cm and your uterus is still beneath your pubic bone… even a doctor couldn’t hear a heartbeat yet! At the most, they could see a heartbeat on an ultrasound. Anything you hear is either your own pulse or your tummy rumbling!
i’m 33 weeks and still cant find the heartbeat using them things and i know everything is ok as i was at the midwife today
same thing happened with my daughter and she is now a healthy 4 year old
8 weeks is too early. It is not possible to hear a heartbeat at this stage unless an ultrasound machine is being used.
10 weeks is the very earliest, even then it’s really hard to find it.
12 weeks is much more realistic!
Your midwife wont even be able to pick up a heartbeat using her doppler until your at least 11 weeks preg. Alot of these homeones dont pick up until your a lot further along. Also how would you know the difference between your heartbeat, the babies and the placenta?
