a real doppler (like the kind your ob/midwife uses you can get one new on ebay for just over 100 dollars new or 60 dollars if used.
now the kind you can buy at babies r us or wal mart are not dopplers, there are two brands one is bebe sounds and the other is angel sounds.
they only work in the third triamester and may not let you hear the heart beat but you will hear lots of wooshing and sounds of inside the uteris (i had a bebe sounds given to me second hand…she said didn’t work well and it didn’t but it was still fun)
i gave mine away…and don’t plan to buy another one, they can range from 15-30 dollars and price has nothing to do with quality (the 15$ is the same quality as the ones that are 30)
i liked it, and was glad i didn’t purchas it…in my opinion they are not wortht the money, i think i only enjoyed it because i didn’t spend the money on it!
try babies r us
I just bought mine from super wal mart for $20
Toys R Us has a womb microphone so you can hear your baby’s heartbeat without having to use ultrasound. It costs around $25.00.
You can buy one but be cautious it will worry you to death if you cant find the heart beat ,i had one and took it back as i could never find the heartbeat
Don’t buy one from Target etc. They have fetal "listeners" there, but they won’t work until your well into your 3rd trimester.
You will be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat, but the background noise is overwhelming.
You can buy a doppler off of ebay, or you can rent one from places like http://www.bellybeats.com/ or http://www.storkradio.com/discounts.php
I bought mine from http://www.healthchecksystems.com/hi_bebe_fetal_doppler_bt200.htm
I found the baby’s heartbeat at 9 weeks. I used it until he was born. He’s a happy 3 month old now!!!! =)
e bay have quite a few i was going to buy one but then decided against it because i knew i would be a nervous wreck if i couldnt find the heartbeat and end up worrying myself over nothing. be aware also that alot of the ones you get from baby shops dont always pick up the heart beat on the weeks it has said in the instructions
good luck
I bought a sonotrax fetal doppler. Its a 3MHZ…and is medical quality. I bought it online for $175. It works great too!
