Fetal doppler 10 1/2 weeks?
i hired a fetal doppler and i when i use it i can hear a faint heartbeat and then i push down a bit more and i can hear it louder but the doppler is saying its only around 82 bpm. is it my heartbeat? and why if it is why can i hear it so loudly in my uterus. i had a scan on saturday and they said things are fine so im a bit confused. my bladder is full and im a bit worried that what i am picking up is the babys heartbeat. should i be worried?

You are actually hearing your heartbeat. It’s too early to hear the babies at this point as your uterus is below your pubic bone. 82 is yours. The babies is going to be 120-170. You can hear it louder towards your pelvis because there is a large artery, a few actually, in your pelvic region that allows for better readings of your heartbeat.
Hang in there. You won’t actually hear the babies heartbeat with a home dopplar until 16+ weeks depending on the brand. Most don’t allow for listening until after 20 weeks.
It’s true, you’re hearing your own heartbeat. Most professional grade dopplers like those used by doctors still can’t pick up sound until close to 12 weeks when the uterus comes up out of the pelvis into the abdomen, and that even sometimes takes searching. My baby’s heartbeat wasn’t detectable until 16 weeks. Furthermore, most rented or purchased dopplers can’t be used until 20-25 weeks into a pregnancy, depending on the model you have. When you are able to hear the heartbeat, it’s generally at least 120-130 and all the way up to 160-170.
Believe me, even at the doctor’s office it took FOREVER for them to pick it up and it was sooooo faint. The 82 heartbeat is you adn yes, you can hear that in your tummy. You can also hear the placenta, that makes a swooshing noise.
THe baby’s heartbeat is faster but at 10 weeks would take a while to get a hold of. I could hear it barely with the doc, the only reason I even caught the slighty sound of it is because I have 5 kdis and I knwo exactly what it sounds like. You have to almost know exactly what to hear for anf you have to try for a whie and be patient. Took the doc 5 minutes or more to finally be able to get it.
Good luck!
