Did hear the fetal heartbeat with a doppler before 10 weeks?
If so, what week were you? I just had my first 10 week appt and the doctor did not attempt to find the heartbeat. She said it was too early so she didn’t try. I was VERY disappointed. I am about 30 lbs overweight, I don’t know if that had anything to do with it or if she didn’t try because she didn’t want me to be disappointed if she didn’t find it.
I now have 2 weeks til my ultrasound but the wait seems like it’s forever. I was contemplating renting a doppler or going back to the dr this week and ask that she try and find it. Will she think I am crazy?

I heard mine at 10 weeks and no I don’t think they will think you’re crazy. Many pregnant women are nervous and ask a lot of questions and you are entitled to do so. If your doctor has problem with that or puts you off, then I would simply find another doctor.
I heard mine at 6 weeks 4 days but that was with an ultrasound. though my doctor picked up a heart beat with the doppler or whatever aournd 12 .
10 weeks is kinda early.. even if you rented one you might not be able to hear it/find it.. and you have to know the difference between your own and the babies..
My best friend heard her baby’s using Doppler at 9 weeks. I’m 105lbs (they say the smalled you are the easier it is to find it) and could not hear my little boys at my 12 week appointment and was devastated I thought something was wrong. Well at my 16 week appointment I got to hear it FINALLY. I think it is different for everyone. With pregnancy there is so much antisipation. For me it was first the heartbeat, then the kicks, then the gender and now im waiting for my hubby to feel kicks. Its so exciting. You will hear it soon sweetie. Patience seems to be a virture in pregnancy. Congratulations!
I heard my baby’s heartbeat at 5 weeks. That was with an ultrasound though. Then at 12 weeks I heard it with the Doppler. If I was you I’d be going crazy also. I mean hello you need to know if your baby is okay. I think you Dr should order and ultrasound if you cannot hear it with the Doppler.
Good luck
We had an U/S at 8 weeks and we heard the heart beat there. The first time we heard the heartbeat with a doppler was 11 weeks. It can be hard to hear the baby that early because the uterus is still behind your pubic bone. I dont know if being over weight will affect weather or not you will hear it. I know how anxious you are, I was there too. Its so amazing. I know a lot of the time they wont try to find it until 12 weeks, but i have a midwife, I dont know if that makes a differance.
I first heard my baby’s heartbeat at 8 weeks. Later on at 12 weeks they tried finding the heartbeat and they couldn’t. I was a nervous wreck until I found out that it all depends on the position they are in. Sometimes they are in such a hard position that you can’t pick up the heartbeat on the doppler.
My doctor wouldn’t even try and find the h/b with the doppler until I was 14 weeks. Up until then, I had only heard it on the ultrasound.
I don’t think it’s crazy that you want to ask your doctor. Lord knows I was a nervous wreck between each appointment waiting for the next u/s or doppler reading. However, she probably doesn’t want you to be worried if she’s not able to get the h/b on the doppler yet.
I went to a clinic for my test and first ultrasound. i found out I was about 6 and some odd weeks and I was able to hear the heartbeat..music to the ears
normally they usually check around ten weeks but being overweight there is a strong possibility that they wont be able to hear it so that IS probably why they didnt attempt it.
