couldnt hear a heartbeat at 10 1/2 weeks pregnant?

im 10 1/2 weeks pregnant, i could see a heartbeat on an ultrasound 3 or so weeks ago, but yesterday my doctor could not hear the heart beat on the fetal doppler. i have to go back in a week to see if she can hear it, and if not, i must have another ultrasound. is everything ok? is this normal?

the only time to worry is when your doctor worries.
It could be the equipment, it could be the position of the baby at the time, etc.
it could be 50/50. Don’t stress yourself until you actually find something wrong. You have a week until the next appointment, so don’t worry until the next appointment and you get your answer. The doctor will help you no matter what the results.
My doc said they generally don’t even try to hear it with the doppler until 12 weeks so you should be fine.
hear in the uk they wont even check a heart beat with a fetal doppler till 16 weeks and this is exactly why its to hard to always pick a heart beat up i think you should be fine hun xxx
If your doctor thought that something happened to your baby, he probably would’ve at least did an ultrasound that same day. Sometimes, you may not be able to hear the heartbeat that early. Sometimes you can. Could be that you may not be as far along as you think.
Don’t get to stressed or scared even though it is scary. Just relax and know it’s still early and maybe your doctor is just having a hard time finding the heart beat or your baby is just being stubborn and hiding away. Your doctor will let you know if something is wrong. Have good hopes okay. Everything is fine.
Im surprised your doctor did that, my midwife wont do it until approx 16 weeks.
My at-home doppler picked it up at 15 weeks.
Yeah don’t worry about it. my midwife used a doppler on me at 13 weeks and she said if I didn’t hear it not to worry as it’s hard to find until you’re past 16 weeks.
It’s possible from 12 but definate from 16.
10 1/2 weeks a bit early for a doppler.
It’s alright don’t worry..most doctors don’t even like to try to find the heartbeat until after 12 weeks because it is so hard to find and they don’t want to worry you.
the Doppler wont work this early unless you are really lucky. don’t worry to much. you have seen it and you have not miscarried so I would not be worried! the doctor will tell you if there is ever something to worry about.
THis is fairly common… one of my girlfriends had the same problem… before you go back the next time, drink some OJ or eat an orange or something with some natural sugars in it, thats what they had her do! Good luck!!
