You should move your question to Pregnancy and Parenting. Hockey fans are great, but I don’t think they know a lot about possible twin pregnancies ;).
I don’t know hun, but you need to put your question in another category so you’ll get a better chance of people answering your question. At the moment, its in Sports - Hockey!
Teach it to play hockey
I did have a friend who was expecting one baby. When it was delivered the doctor said " Wait, theres another one in here!". Seemingly the 2nd baby was hidden behind the first in the scan. She delivered beautiful twins. Total shock to everyone, including hospital staff! Best of luck. (PS. I know this is in sports and hockey, but thats ok)
Try posting this in "Pregnancy", for starters.
You want to put your child or children in hockey?
Well, the Sedin twins play for the Canucks, but I think they’re the only twins in the NHL right now. That’s one out of 30 teams, so I’d day you have a 3.33% chance of having twins, according to the latest hockey statistics.

And who says hockey fans know nothing about pregnancies? The Doppler could easily be picking up your own heartbeat, or it may be registering what they call a "static echo" (the sound of the heartbeat bouncing off the inside of the placenta). The pulsing of blood through the umbilical cord can also sound like a heartbeat, especially if that’s what you’re looking for.
At least, that’s what my voluminous research uncovered when I was spending hours playing with the doppler on my wife’s belly (both pregnancies) and I was REALLY expecting twins because my mom is a twin and her mom had twin brothers. I was going to name them Luke and Leia.
But don’t just take a hockey fan who’s a father’s word for it…
"If you are picking up a heartbeat in two locations at roughly the same rate (within 10 bpm or so) then assume its just a single baby’s heartbeat in two places. However, if you are picking up a heartbeat in two locations at drastically differnent beats per minute (ei: one is 130 and one is 160) then that may be more of an indication of twins. The only way to really know if you are having twins though, is through an ultrasound. "
Go Canucks Go!
No one would be your own heart beat the other would be baby’s.
and yes you can hear your own heart beat on your belly with one of those.
could be ure own heartbeat?
but other then that, hockey rules
