Listen to your baby heartbeat from 8 weeks
Yes i heard my baby from 12 weeks on the dopler. The reason you are not hearing a heartbeat could simply be because the baby is lying with its back to you. xx
They can usually pick up a heartbeat around 10 weeks, but if the doctor said you’re okay, then don’t listen to me. What you are hearing is amniotic fluid moving in and out. You won’t feel the baby move until about 5 months.
I wish they would take those things off the market, there suppose to be for diagnostic purposes not entertainment…they’re more difficult to use than they look and will only stress you out when you dont hear what your looking for..that sound your hearing is most likely the placenta.
You should be able to hear the baby and the heartbeat on fetal doppler.
When you move the doppler scope over your abdomen, you’ll hear a static sound - cracking and popping, like dead airwaves. When you ‘hit’ the baby, it will suddenly change to a whooshing sound as you move over the baby’s body. And then, when you get to the heart, well, you can’t miss that - it sounds like a heartbeat - lub dub, lub dub, lub dub.
i have a fetal heart moniter, from mothercare, it was the best one they had but it is rubbish i am currently 32 week and still cant hear the heart beat with it i can hear kicking moving etc but no heart beat …….
The first two times we did a doppler, we didnt hear anything. The first time, i had just eatten and my tummy was rumbling too loud. The second time the doctor said (i kid you not) i had a hollow uterus. I know it was a joke, but it sounded totally empty!
The cool thing was, after the second one of not hearing anything… we did a quicky ultrasound… and i saw my baby. WOW! is all i can say. (I was 11 wks)
Oh… and that whole "not feeling the baby kick until month 5" is crap!! Either that, or i got me a lil soccer star! (16 wks now)
