Angelsounds is the best it works from 8 weeks as i was able to hear my baby i got it on ebay for £25 and £3 for the gel they use as well
I got mine from here

and I would really recommend it. It arrived within 18 hours of me ordering it and it’s really good. I am only 10 weeks and clearly heard the heartbeat yesterday. You only have to have it for a month, but if you keep it longer they just charge your credit card each month until you send it back.
It’s best to rent a proper medical one than buy one of these ‘prenatal listening systems’ which most people struggle to ever get to work!
Hey there ive been told by my midwife nt to purchase one of these as they are nt as realiable as the hospitals, and cn cause un necessasery stress if u cnt find heartbeat, but if u insist on buying one check out reviews on the internet first good luck xxx
I had an Angelsounds one and it was brilliant. I bought it from ebay make sure you get one with the gel though as they don’t work too well without it. There is an example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ANGELSOUNDS-PINK-FETAL-DOPPLER-HEART-RATE-MONITOR-GEL_W0QQitemZ370132548086QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Baby_Maternity_Pregnancy_MJ?hash=item370132548086&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1688%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 I heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks with one.
I have an angel sounds that i bought on amazon. It wasn’t very expensive and whilst I’ve heard mixed reviews on them, mine does the job no problems.
I just want to agree with the top answer-
The hi bebe LCD doppler is fab. It is medical grade and it picked up my baby’s heartbeat at 11 1/2 weeks.
I am sending mine back at the end of the week as my baby is kicking and i hardly use it anymore, but before you feel movements, it is amazing for reassurance, and at 19 weeks, you should have no problem finding the heartbeat, although it does take a bit of practise at first!
I rent mine from hornet international at £19.95 a month, and it came with a 7 day return period so if i didnt get on with it, i could send it back.
I dont thinit is worth you buying one at 19 weeks as you will feel your baby move in the next month or so and probably wont use it as much after then, and to buy new, they are about £110, and still sell for about £60+ second hand on eBay.
From what I have read, i wouldn’t recommend the ones they sell in Mothercare/Argos until you are much further along as they are not medical grade and apparently dont work too well.
Congrats on your pregnancy
I’ve got the BF500+ fetal doppler. If you type it into a search engine then you will probably find it on numerous sites. It wasn’t the cheapest, but I’ve been listening to my baby for around 4 weeks now (I’m nearly 19 weeks). Most dopplers take a little getting used too especially with our babys being still small, you have to jiggle them a bit, but once you know where to find them it’s really easy and the digital monitor on it gives you the heartrate too. I’ve actually seen this one on ebay, slightly cheaper on there, so maybe check that out. I’d certainly recommend it, I use mine all the time. Good luck hun. x
I bought one and had no clue how to use it and what I was looking for. Myne had no LCD screen so if you are going to buy one make sure that it has an LCD.
I am going to give birth in a midwife run unit and all of them have told me that buying a doppler is not a good idea as I am not qualified to use one.
I also don’t think that my baby enjoys being prodded with the doppler. I had it done today and when the midwife found the baby’s heartbeat it kicked me and then it swam away. She found it’s heartbeat the second time and it instantly swam away again. My sister said that if you do it too often it can annoy the baby.
I have been thinking though about getting one with an LCD screen this time, but I am worried I will get tempted to use it too often.
