Whichever one you buy, don't get too freaked out. My doctor's office dopplar couldn't hear my baby at 14weeks (lst attempt to listen) and I panicked and thought the baby wasn't alive. After an ultrasound, I learned all was well and my darling son is now 4mon. Just don't let it freak you out if you can't hear something right away. The position of the baby and placenta play into it.

I wouldn't waste your money. Unless you are planning on spending a lot. Those things from walmart or Babies R Us..are nothing more than a stethoscope with a speaker. Everyone I know that has bought one of those said they wished they hadn't. You can't hear it until about the 3rd trimester and most of the time you do not hear it at all, but if you do hear it, unless you know what you are listening for you can't tell if it is the mother or baby. My OB said so many women call in or come in bc they hear it one day and can't hear the next and get scared something is wrong. She said she wished they didn't sell them. They aren't like those at the Drs office where you can hear it at 8 weeks. Now if you buy one for a couple hundred dollars that is a true doppler, then you might have better results.

I rented an actual medical grade doppler from Babyfm and have been listening to the baby since just over 8 wks. I would rent them for 20-25/month vs. spending hundreds to buy one.
