The angelsounds monitors are disappointing. I tried mine only on days I went to the doctor so that I was sure there was a heartbeat. Even when I was 36 weeks pregnant, the thing never worked.

My friend has a fetal doppler. A word of caution, she drove herself nuts using it. She used it constantly, and if she couldn't find the baby's heartbeat she immediately freaked out. Think about whether you'll be obsessed with hearing the heartbeat before you get one.

Soon you will be feeling kicks and that's all you need. I remember worrying when I was about 20 weeks that I couldn't feel my baby. Then bubbles turned into thumps which turned into all-out whacking in my belly. It happens very quickly.

Good luck.

I bought a professional one on Ebay for $65 during my first pregnancy. I plan on using it during this pregnancy and then putting it back for sale on Ebay.

I bought one of the cheap ones...and it was awful. Never once was able to hear the heart beat....just alot of gas and rumblings. Not so cute!

Anyway, my thought behind it:

It would make me worry more if I had a fetal doppler because me not being a doctor I wouldn't know how to interpret all the heart noises and then I would be worried something was wrong and what not!! I'd rather leave it all to the doctor. And it makes the times you go in to the docs really special as well. Just my thoughts though.

The baby will be kicking soon enough. Trust me!!

I rented one from there when I was pregnant with my daughter. I loved it! It helped me ease any concerns that I had when I didn't feel her move! She is now a healthy, beautiful 1 year old!!
