Baby Movement…Feel Nothing Yet?
So I’m 20 weeks pregnant and still trying to determine if I’m feeling my baby move. I’m a plus-sized gal but it has never been a problem w/dopplers or ultrasounds. I have a doppler at home and can easily hear the heart beat + swooshing sounds (which the doc says is movement).
Being one of the lucky moms with gas, I tend to get little aches and gurgles most of the day so it makes it even more difficult to catch any movement. I’ve tried lying down in bed and pushing down on my tummy to get a reaction but got nothing.
I’m a 1st time mommy but don’t get me wrong…I’m not a paranoid mommy. I’m just curious to see if anyone here felt fetal movement later than normal, like around 21 or 22 Weeks?

trust me, I’m a gassy mommy to be but when my baby started moving, I could totally see the difference! mine started moving at week 18 and sometimes it moves faster/more often than others. I was so jealous of girls saying they could feel their babies as soon as 13-14 weeks and I was like, when is it going to be my time? or even worse, is he/she alive? but now it moves and it makes me so happy. he/she moved like crazy when my hubby put his hand on my belly, I almost cried!
so wait a little bit more, you are so close!
hugs
My friend went through the same thing. She felt the baby move at 22 weeks, she is also plus sized.
idk i felt my daughter move when i was 17weeks prego..and with this pregnancy at 16weeks..u will soon be able to feel ur baby move..
I don’t mean to sound rude so I apoligize if it comes across that way but if you are larger it may take longer for you to feel the baby move because of the extra layers of fat. Also if it’s your first baby it may be harder for you to tell.
i was confused others could feel him but i couldnt i didnt feel him good until like 23-25 weeks so it might be a little later
It may just be the way your baby is laying. Still plenty of room in there. You will fill him/her soon! Sometimes it isn’t until 22 weeks. You don’t have anything to worry about.
Apparently first time moms feel the baby movement later than women who have given birth before. You could still have another five weeks before you feel movement.
