At 11 weeks pregnant can the Doppler pick the fetal heart rate?

I am a little overweight and I was wondering if the doppler will be able to pick up the baby’s heart rate at my 11 week appointment?

When I was pregnant with my first I had my first OB appointment at 11 weeks and they were able to hear it. I too myself am a little overweight. It took them a couple of minutes to find it but they did. It was however very faint because the baby was so small. But by the time I went to my next appointment it was loud and clear and no problems finding it.
most likely the doctor will try. If he cant hear it he will probably try at your next visit. normally they dont try to find the heart beat until 12 or 14 weeks.

It should, but it just depends on the baby. I didn’t get a heartbeat on the doppler until I was 10 weeks along with my first two pregnancies, but with this pregnancy, they couldn’t pick one up at 14 weeks, so they gave me an ultrasound. Baby is fine, just didn’t want to cooperate and was hiding, LOL.

Probably, but don’t be alarmed if they don’t hear it until later. There are several reasons why (other than your weight) they may not be able to hear a heartbeat at only 11 weeks. If there is any concern, they can order an ultrasound. Hopefully, though, it will work and you can hear it! It’s pretty cool the first time!
its possible, i found my babys at exactly 11 weeks. I had always had difficultly finding it until i was 13 week because the baby is still small and moves all the time so it would take me ages until i found it. Since 13 weeks ive been able to find it really easily mostly within seconds. Dont panic if they dont find it but id say the chances of hearing it especially as you say that youre overweight would be around 60%
I’m sure you will be able to hear your baby. I have heard my babies anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks.
