Good ones can cost thousands of dollars. Excellent ones can cost over $10,000. An ok one will cost several hundred. Crappy ones that can be purchased at stores like Babies R Us, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. can cost from $5 - $30. The only problem is that they hardly work. When my wife was pregnant with our daughter, we had one and we could never hear the baby's hearbeat. All we could hear was my wife's food digesting and other bodily noise.
