well 40.00 dont work that well to be honest i bought one that was 35 and i couldnt hear anythin and then i bought one for 125.00 and it works great i can hear my babys heartbeat wenever i want and its easy to find and the heartbeat is usually always around 138-150 so the cheapest is not always the greatest u pay for wut u get..so 40.00 wouldnt get u anythin that great..

I wouldn’t waste your money. At this point, you can feel your baby kicking. Your baby’s kicks are a much better measure of his/her well-being than a doppler. The kicks will slow down before the heart does anything if something were to go wrong. Also, at this point you can hear your baby’s heartbeat with a stethoscope! My doppler cost $500.

I also looked into this but I have heard and read that you normally can’t pick anything up until well into the 3rd trimester and that even then it can be hard to locate. I thought it sounded like such a great way to ease my paranoia, but you can’t get ones like they have at the doctor’s office (that can detect it as soon as 10 weeks) for $40.00.

I wouldn’t bother. The ones you can buy at babies r us don’t work. You can rent one online for about $25 a month but really at this point since you can feel the baby move I wouldn’t think it would be worth it. The ones rented online are medical grade and work from 10-12 weeks. I used one from 14-24 weeks with my son.

with a budget of $40 i wouldn’t bother. we bought one from walmart and it was useless. the only ones that really work are several hundred dollars.

At 19 weeks I hired a doppler - it was the Hi-Bebe one. I heard the heartbeat straight away and have done each time I’ve used it since (now 24 weeks). But now I feel him kick all the time so don’t really need it anymore. But it only cost 10 pounds a month and you can hire for just one month so you could always do that just for fun. But don’t get worried if you can’t hear it (although the hi-bebe ones are top quality so you should hear it really by this stage).

i was watching a tv show this morning (portland babies- about a maternity hospital in London, i’m from UK) ,anyway a patient was in and asked if she should buy one and the midwife said they are about £300, the £40 ones on the market aren’t really very good and if you don’t know what your supposed to be listening to then this can worry you more. Also some babies are difficult to listen to their heartbeats…my baby hates the doppler and moves away as soon as my midwife puts it on me. i’d say save your money and maybe buy a Monitor for when baby is born as they really can save lives.
