Fetal doppler and fetal heart beat questions?

Hi!
I’m just curious if anyone can answer my questions… :}
My first question is whether or not finding the fetal heart beat 2 inch below my belly button is a normal position to find it at 12 weeks. I’ve been listening and successfully hearing LO since 9w6d and I’ve been finding it progressively higher each time. The first time I found it 4 full inches below my belly button. Am I hearing it too high at 12 weeks I keep reading that at 12 weeks it should be lower. This is my 5th pregnancy but only one so far has been to term. The heart beat is ranges from 130-160 but is usually the lower end, recently LO has been moving around a lot when I try to listen.

My second question is about the Fundal (sp) height, if at 12 weeks it supposed to be right above the pubic bone why am I hearing LOs HB so high? Is it because this isn’t my first pregnancy?

Also when I listen to the HB I typically find one that is in the 130s then it dissapears so I rotate the Doppler wand and I’ll pick it up again only this time it’s in the 150/160 range…. any one know what that’s about? I’m not moving the wand from its position just rotating and changing the angle of the wand. One sounds most whispy ( if that makes sense) and the other sound really solid. Any thoughts? I know I’m not picking up the placenta because that, im pretty sure, sounds like the wind tunnel. I can typically find the faster one and the higher beat multipal times. Is this an echo or twins?

I’m going in for a doctor visit on Wednesday so I’ll be getting a scan as well so I can ask him everything too but in the mean time I thought I would ask you ladies what your thoughts were.

Thanks in advance!!

Fetal heart rate normal?

Hello, i just had my 12 week doc appointment and when the doppler was used my baby’s heart rate was 154 bpm. Now, at 6 weeks it was 164, and 8 weeks it was 185. Are these differences normal? The doc wasnt concerned but i think its a huge change from 8 weeks.

I was at my midwife appointment yesterday for my 34 week appointment and the fetal doppler picked up two separate heart beats - one in my lower pelvic region toward the right and the other on my lower left rib cage. She put the doppler back on my lower right pelvic region and still heard the heart beat there afterward, so it didn’t move. Could this mean twins?
Thanks for your input everyone. I did have an ultrasound at 18 weeks which officially showed one baby, but then the ultrasound had what looked to have a been a second umbilical cord in the background. Whether one was hiding behind the other, I really couldn’t say and nor could the professionals.

This is my first pregnancy. I popped out at 17 weeks, and have been measuring about 2 to 3 cm larger every visit with my midwife and they’ve only picked up one heart beat until just yesterday, when they found two - which is why I suppose they had no concerns previously (that, and the 18 week ultrasound only showing one). I know it’s unlikely they missed one but the midwife is sending me in for another ultrasound this monday to confirm everything.

Just wondering what you all thought - thank you.

I was using my fetal doppler i just rented its the same one the ob uses. i am about 16 weeks pregnant and i detected the heartbeat but it was jumping from 140-200! if i kept it in one spot it stayed at 143 so is it just the doppler? im trying not to worry but its my first baby and ive already had 2 miscarriges

This is my second pregnancy, first ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks ..
With the first I never did get to see a heart beat.
With this pregnancy I’ve seen the heart beat 3 time!
Also I have a home fetal Doppler, and I listen to my babies heart every day since 9w4d.
I’m just really paranoid. I’m wondering if my chances of miscarriage have decreased at all?

fetal heartbeat but negative test? help please?

i know this place is full of pregnancy questions but im looking for opinions and experiences…

im currently breastfeeding my 6 month old son. i have not had a period return since i had him. i know this is normal. however i did feel like i started ovulating about 3 months after he was born. im pretty intune with my body and have always felt when i ovulate.
about 2 months ago i started to feel pregnant. swelling in my hands in the am when i wake up. headaches. my milk supply went down. so i took a test and nothing. so i started taking fenugreek and mothers milk to help with my supply. since then its been a fight to keep my milk up. and in the last week i have actually had to supplement a couple times because of my milk drop. and in the last week or so my pants are starting to feel tight and i have put on a few pounds. even though im not eating more…i have also had loose stools for the last week. so i have taken a couple more tests i had one with a couple with faint lines the other day and the rest negative since…with my other pregnacies they got darker. the only exception was my first. i didnt get a positive urine or blood test till after 10 weeks along.
i have 4 children so i know what pregnancy feels like…so i got out my pocket doppler (medical grade) i have done this when not pregnant and pregnant. and im picking up my heaertbeat at 80-90bpms and then whooshing sound like the placenta makes onmy right side down by my pelvic bone. it is also picking up a beat of 150-160 bpms inthis area…
so i used the doppler on hubby and the kids to see if it picked up any noises or bpms like that and it didnt….
i called the dr and they said it will eventually show up if iam. they dont seem to think i am. they said the whooshing could be a vein but said they cant explain the bpms…but why wont that noise come from anyone else?
like i said i am just looking for opinions. im sure eventually i will know for sure. either way i dont drink or do anything that could harm a baby…i just feel pregnant but obviously i cant prove it…
anyone ever go through anything like this?

baby movement at 23 weeks?

Hey everyone, im just after a bit of knowledge from all you experienced mums out there.

Tomorrow I will be 23 weeks pregnant. I have been feeling what im sure are fetal movement from around 19 weeks. They felt like a little bubble had just popped under my skin. I havent had them everyday, maye every 2-3 days but wasnt worried as I thought this was normal, plus I have a doppler so im able to listen to the heartbeat.

The past few days I have started to feel it everyday, even if its only feeling 2 or 3 "thumps", and the other day I was lying on my left side when I started to feel the thumps on my right side, when it got to 3 thumps I put my hand on my side and I could feel it really strongly on my palm! It kicked a further 4 times but stopped just before my other half could feel it. I was so chuffed, its the strongest kicks Ive had yet. Since then they havent been so strong as they have been in a different place, but they happen in bouts of 3 kicks, 6 kicks etc quite a few times a day.

What I want to know is, when do these kicks generally become constant and powerful? My other half is eager to feel them from the outside, but apart from the instance a few days ago I havent been able to feel them through the skin. And is it normal to be kicking strongly one day and lightly the next?……

Thankyou.

This morning I woke up and the left side of my stomach felt really tight, so I felt it and it feels hard on the left side! Is that normal? The right side still feels normal. I am showing a little and have been for a few weeks ( this is my first baby).

So why is just the left side hard and not the right side? Is everything ok?? I have my own fetal doppler and I used it to check the heartbeat, it was a good 150. I’m just worried as to why only my left side would be hard?
