twin missed at 8 week ultrasound?

I know I have seen this question asked a million times, but I have to ask it again. I am 14 weeks pregnant, and had a U/S at 8 weeks,(with an outdated machine my HCG level was 145,000 however only saw 1 baby, however on the fetal doppler now we are hearing two separate heart beats. 1 is 138 and the 2nd is 157. I won’t have another U/S until 21 weeks, and my uterus is already at my belly button…

Just looking for some experiences from other women who got a surprise at 21 weeks…..
No, I don’t have two dopplers unfortunately and I didn’t think about that.
And, I have two Corpus luteum cysts.

question about fetal dopplers….?

I bought a fetal doppler and I had a question to anyone thats used them or had them used on them. When I first opened and turned on the doppler it made a lot of normal static like noise like it was listening for something or trying to listen for something. Then when I actually laid down and tried to use it, I put gel on it and me and cut it on and it doesn’t make ANY noise at all. Complete silence. I haven’t had one used on me yet so I don’t know if it is normal for it to be silent until you find the heart beat or if its supposed to make the noise like when its looking for it? If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I just need to know if the machine is faulty or if I just don’t know how it works yet!

Thanks,
Kimberly

hi, im 17 weeks 2 days pregnant.
And last night i think i found my babys heartbeat.
I dont have a doppler yet, so i use my stethescope and i found a
hearts beat that is kinda loud, andi hear it beat for about 4 maybe 5 beats. then i stops, like it moves away. So i was wondering could it be my heart beat? or did i find the babys? (:
its not the first time i found it like that. I found it again like 2 days ago.
Thanks for all your answer in advance. <3

hi, i had a nonstress test at my docs today and the babies heartrate held around the low 120’s but was constantly in the teens and even tens. so they sent me to the hostpital. same thing there. but with movement he got up to the 130’s for a sec. i know the average heart rate is 120-170 or 110-170. well i am terrified. i feel like my bubba has his cord wraped arounnd him or somehing. im so scared. the docs seemed puzzled but not overly concerned so i was sent home like nothing happened. WELL I AM CONCERNED! ive read about to many bad endings and i dont wanna be one of them. i have a doppler and his heart has been doing this for about 2 weeks. his usual is like 135. im just freaking out. plz help. i dunno what to do or think.
i had a quick ultrasound for fluid levels. they were just ok nothin great but within the normal limits apparently.
plz keep answering ill continue to check.

Fetal Heart Doppler… worth buying?

I am looking into buying a fetal heart doppler/monitor and am just wondering if anyone has one or used one. Are they any good?

I have looked at a few on the net. There is a wide range of them and are varied in price. So would anyone recommend a make or suggest where I can get one cheaply?

Any information/advice would be great!

BeBe Sounds during pregnancy?

Has anyone ever used the BeBe sounds product? it’s an fetal type doppler you can buy at most baby retail stores fairly cheap. I know it says you can use it mostly in your 3rd trimester is best.

I would think mid 2nd would be sufficient too.

Well just polling people to see When did you use it? and was it successful?

Slowing fetal heart rate?

I am now 35 weeks pregnant with my first child.

I have been getting regular NST from my OB due to gestational diabetes, and everything looks good. The baby was reactive and her heart rate varied from 130 - 150 BPM.

My last NST was Monday morning.

My concern is that I have a home doppler where I check the heartbeat (just to ease my mind) and last night her heart rate seemed very slow. It was ranging from 115 - 125 BPM. I checked it again today, and it was around 128 BPM, but went up to about 135 BPM and dropped back to the 120’s again.

Should this be a cause for concern? I’m still feeling her move on a regular basis. I’m just concerned that this may be too low.

ok this is kinda a long question i am going to give a little history as i don’t know if it plays a part in the answer. i have a bicorneous uterus and it has also tilted way back. i have some other medical issues also and have had three previous miscarriages. for those who don’t know what the bicorneous uterus is it is where my uterus has essentially a wall down the middle that makes it like having two uterus’. i am 12 weeks along and received my doppler in the mail earlier this week and doctor told me baby was on my left side and i would be able to find the heartbeat there. have been hearing the heart regularly with a strong heart rate. well today i was playing with the doppler and i am hearing a heartbeat on my right side so i compared it to the heart rate of my left side and the numbers aren’t really matching up right side is running around 150’s and left is 160’s.
1st question is can the heart rate fluctuate?
2nd is this an indication of twins?
thanks for the answers so far thought i will add a couple more details reading some of your answers.. i have had three sonograms the problem is the first she was rushed out to an emergency but she found baby first and was located on the left then stopped the sonogram…. since then they have only looked on the left since that was the side they found he/she on. i am almost 100% sure that it woud not be the placenta or umbilical cord since everything is located on the left side outer wall…. and with the other wall down the middle makes it hard for me to understand how the doppler could get the sound waves through to hear it ….

fetal heartbeat??

Ok, so I am 9 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I have an OB appointment this evening at 4:45 pm. The last time I was at the office they told me that my uterus was just a little larger than they would have expected for my gestation. I know that could mean nothing, it could mean you are farther along than you think, or it could mean a multiple pregnancy. However, I am curious……is there any chance that they will be able to find my baby’s heartbeat with the doppler device today?? I am so scared that something is going to happen……and if I could just hear the heartbeat I think it would make me relax a lot! Anyway, please let me know what you think….is there a chance I will be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat yet? The midwife told me last time that they would try!
I am a student nurse, only have one class left to have my BSN. I am aware of medical terms, just wasnt sure about the heart rate!

So last night, as I was laying down to go to bed, I decided to see if I could find the baby’s heartbeat, which I do from time to time. Well, last night, I swear I found 2. One was at 135 bpm and the other was at 154 bpm and they sounded different. As we are all aware, a full grown persons heart beat is only around 80-100 bpm, so both of the above numbers are too high to be mine. How likely at 18 weeks 1 day is it to just now be aware of the possibility of twins? Is it common to have a real early ultrasound (7w2d) and not see another child? Also, how far apart would the babies be if there were two in utero? The slower heart beat was loud as usual, and the other faster heartbeat was quieter. The reason I question my own thoughts is the heart beats were about 3 inches apart from one another. Has anyone had any experiences like this and found out it was or was not twins? I have a good Doppler, and have been able to find the babys heartbeat each time. Any thoughts? Ideas? I go in Wednesday of this week to find out what the gender is! I can’t wait! Twins are prevalent in my family and last year in my family we had spontaneous triplets, so multiples are very possible.
Mrslane, I believe you could be correct, but a resting heartbeat for anyone pregnant or not shouldn’t be over 100bpm. That would start getting up into high blood pressure range I believe. Which each time I go to the doctor, that has been at around 80bpm for me.

Fetal Heartbeat?

Is there a way that a doctor can mistake your own heartbeat for your baby’s when using the doppler on your stomach?
my heartbeat was high anyway and was about 127…i was quite nervous, and usually it doesnt take but a second to find the heartbeat but she took a minute. she said that the babys heartbeat was right below 130 is why i asked if she could mistake mine for the babys. im 19weeks pregnant.

can't hear fetal heartbeat…?

I had my second OB appt today and I’m 13 weeks pregnant. My doctor could not hear the baby’s heatbeat with the doppler and I got worried. She did an ultrasound and we saw it beating and the baby was moving a little bit so I guess the baby’s fine. Is it normal to not hear the baby’s heart at 13 wks? Does that mean the baby’s heart is beating too weak?

15 weeks pregnant fetal heart rate 136?

I had an ultrasound 3 days ago at 14w 5d and this little guy or girl was kicking and punching and dancing around like crazy. That day I was told its heart rate was 150 (measured by the ultrasound machine). After a little freak out I had yesterday I went into the ER to make sure everything was okay. They used a doppler to check the babys heart rate and I was told it was 136 (not counted by the doppler but insead by counting and looking at a watch). I asked if it was normal for it to drop so much in just a couple days and was told not to worry, it was still in the normal range and the baby could just be sleeping. I’m tring to tell myself that sounds possible cause if the baby was very active during my ultrasound its heart rate was bound to be higher than if he or she was sleeping during this visit. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this and if this sounds possible to everyone else?

r fetal dopplers dangerous?

i am 20 weeks pregnant an have had my doppler for about 2 weeks i only use it when i am worried an only for a couple of seconds when i hear it then it is off, apart from today when it took me 10 minutes to find as she was hiding from me making mommy panic!!!! anyway do dopplers give out heat that cud burn the unborn baby or anythink bad like that i have read up on dopplers an most of them say there is no known risk but just use in moderation but when im worried bout baby i listen but not all the time im worried i am harming my unborn baby for my own selfish needs to no she is ok!? if anyone has got a doppler can u tell me how often u use urs an whether u worry of the risks? thanks oh my 20 weeks scan was fine the midwife said everythink looks perfect but i am worried dopplers make the womb hot an burn her i am probably being silly i no cuz it doesnt feel hot to me but please any advice for me thanx.

anyone know anything about fetal dopplers?

Hi..im not sure if any1 can help me or not. Im nearly 17 weeks pregnant and i have rented a doppler so i can listen to my babies heartbeat myself as i had a miscarrige last year and feel i need to be constantly reassured during this pregnancy. I was just wondering if i can use the doppler whenever i want or if there is a certain amount of times a week i can use it. Its just i know its onyl safe to have 1 scan a week and the doppler is the same kind of thing as its ultrasound. Does this mean i can only use the doppler once a week or can i use it as much as i want? Iv had it for about a week now and cant stop using it..haha. I just love listening to my babies heartbeat. Hope you can help. Thankyou x

question about fetal heartbeat?

i just asked a similar question but wanted to add more details. sorry for the repost.
at 10 weeks pregnant, i got to hear the babies heartbeat on the doppler. Yesterday, I called the nurse to see if i could come in and hear the heartbeat again cause i was just being worried, she told me i could come in and have a listen.
so i came in to the office yesterday, and she got the doppler out and put it on my tummy. she was trying for a while, and she would pick up my heartbeat. then she said right next to where she was picking up my heart beat she was picking up the babies, and the babies heartbeat was mixed into mine making it difficult to hear the babies. but she said she knew for sure it was the babies because it was registering at 172bpm on the doppler and that the way the baby was positioned it was difficult to hear the babies heartbeat. she said 172 is the babies heartbeat cause adults heart rates aren’t that high and babies have higher heartrates.
my question is, should i be worried that i didn’t actually hear the heartbeat even though the nurse said the numbers registered on the doppler?

ok…I have been listening to the baby on doppler lately and there are several times I have been listening that the babys heartrate will just suddenly drop from around 150 to about 100…It comes right back up but this is weird!!! I know it isnt the baby moving and the doppler dropping it cause I physically hear the drop and rise along with the doppler read out….What causes this?! I am 16 wks 4 days today….
I know it wasnt my own heartbeat…I heard the drop and rise in the baby and I didnt feel or hear any movement of the baby on the doppler at the same time either….Maybe where I was laying on my back when I listened? I see the doctor on Tuesday and I am going to ask him to check over stuff thoroughly…

Fetal Heartrate???

Hi, im 16 weeks pregnant today and i have been listening to my babys heart rate for the last few weeks with my own doppler. It has always been between 140-170 bpm. I was just having a listen and it was at 145ish then suddenly dropped to 130 ish for a second or 2 then came back up. As it dropped, the baby gave me a really big kick. Im a little confused and worried as surely when the baby moves it would go up not down? and is it normal for it to just drop then go up again??? Anyone had any experience of this? Ta

fetal heartbeat (dopplers)?

I recently got a doppler from bellybeats.com. I am curious to know what others have heard through their dopplers?! What did the babys heartbeat soundlike? Everytime I use it, including when i get it done at the doctors its always like a swoosh swoosh swoosh sound….is this what you guys hear?! Its so exciting to hear your baby!

I had my ultrasound on Monday and they said the heartbeat was 194. My doctor only has the doppler that can tell it’s heartbeat at about 14 weeks. I am only 10 1/2. I have asked the doctor and he said that he has not recieved my ultrasound reports yet. My family thinks it is more than one. My Dr. was concerned about my uterus size and my HcG level. That is why I had the ultrasound. However I don’t believe there is two considering that my baby was bouncing off the walls and flipping and turning and moving all over the place. The nurse said that when we run or heart rate goes up so when my baby is flipping and playing it’s heartbeat will also increase. I have two others and they have never had a heart beat that fast. I have looked it up on line and the only thing I am finding is that it could be a infection, which all my tests are in the clear. I have also found that it could be twins. I am waiting on the results. However I am really concerned. Any ideas? Anyone else experience this?
Twins run in my family. My aunt was 8 months when she found out she was having twins. They had a high heartbeat which sounded like one. They also had the same heartbeat the entire time she was pregnant. They were only able to determine them being twins when they found strong heartbeats in two places. Ultrasounds never showed a thing! They are now 5 years old.

Fetal heart beat at 14 almost 15 weeks??

I went to the doctors last week and I was almost 15 weeks, the doctor used the doppler but could not find the heart beat. He then gave me an ultra sound, everything was fine. He made a comment to me "Gee I wonder why I couldnt here it". I have not yet heard the heart beat, I have had about 5 or 6 ultra sounds and you can see the little heart beating but never heard it. Why??

Fetal heart rate decreased when lying flat???

At my check up at 22 weeks the doctor said that baby’s heart rate kept dropping as he was listening with the doppler. He said the baby must not have liked me lying flat. Has this happened to anyone else before? If so, what advice do you have?

Hearing two fetal heartbeats…twins?

I have a heartbeatt doppler at home. I’m 16 weeks and noticed last night that i hear two different heartbeats. I’ve always heard mine and the baby’s. The baby’s which always sounds like a fast washing machine was registering at 162bpm…then about 3 inches over I heard another heartbeat that sounded like galloping horses and it registered at 152bpm. Tried it twice and heard them both again?!?! My maternal grandfather was a twin…am i going crazy or is there a possibility?
