I hired a fetal doppler from ebay when i was 9 1/2 weeks but couldnt hear anything so i didnt use it again until i was 10 1/2 weeks and i used it daily for about 3-4 days until i finally picked u the heartbeat at 11 weeks. At first I used it for a few minutes everyday, for about a week from 10 1/2 to 11 1/2 weeks and then i read its not recommended to use it so often so now i only use it every 2 days. Ive read alot of mixed comments on how often you can use it some say as much as you like while others say once every few days.I reached 12 weeks today and i have a scan on thursday but until then i like having the reassurance and listening to the heartbeat especially as i just had a miscarriage in setember. So is the doppler safe to use daily?

I bought a fetal doppler that has the lcd screen that shows the babys heart rate. When I first put it on I usually get a reading between 120-135 bpm, but after a few seconds of it being on, the heartbeat sounds like its decreasing and the readout drops to in the 90’s. I don’t think its picking up mine cuz I will move the doppler to my chest and get my heart rate and its not the same. I’m just getting nervous because I miscarried before and i’m not sure what to think? My doc appt in July 2nd so it’s not that far away but i’m just nervous.
It wasn’t an expensive doppler but maybe its crossing my heartrate and the baby’s?

I am considering renting or buying a fetal doppler. The kind that has a LCD screen and can show you how fast the heart is beating. I am 18 weeks and seem to always be worrying. It would be nice to have some peace of mind. A month between apts. is just to long. Has anyone rented or bought one recently and f so how good is it. I was thinking is probably better to rent one as opposed to buying because it may be better quality. Also. are they hard to use? I welcome any info I can get on this THANKS

ok so i ordered a fetal doppler i am 8 weeks pregnant and decided to try it out..now usually you can only start to hear a heat beat at around 10-12 weeks with the certain type i bought. But i got a clear heart beat at 125 bpm..do you think that this is babys heart or mine? i find it a bit high to be mine.. i detected on the left side of the belly.
with my first baby his heart beat was always at 130.

My hubby’s aunt counted the heartbeats with her watch while I used the rental fetal doppler (www.bellybeats.com), 115 per minute. Is it good? Should I concern about it?
I’m currently 19 weeks and 2 days along.

It just he doesnt seem to be moveing as much as before, but he is moveing as I feel him every now and then.

ok, for those who want to know, i use baby beat (fetal doppler). works great. i rented it for a month. i’m only gonna keep it till i fill the baby move. i heard the heart beat within like 1 minute. first i heard my own then the baby’s.
it’s great reassurance and peace of mind.
it’s weird though cause 2 weeks ago, the OBGYN heard it on the left side of my belly and when i put the probe there i didn’t hear it. i moved it to the right and Presto! is that cause the baby moves??

Just wondering but while any of you ladies were pregnant did you have a fetal doppler and if so when you listened did it ever sound weird? like it skipped beats sometimes or almost "jumped" sometimes? Or did you ever hear any other weird noises while listening?…Just wondering I talked to my doc. about what i’ve heard and he said it was normal…..but I would just like to know if anyone else heard that as well while listening to their babies

I am 14 wks pregnant with my 2nd child. I went to my routine check-up this week and was expecting to hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time. Surprisingly, it was not found, so, they decided to do an ultrasound to detect the beats per minute (bpm). The baby was moving so rapidly (this is the reason the heartbeat could not be detected with the doppler[?]) that the technician could hardly clock the bpm. Finally she clocked the bpm at 164, which is normal. Note that my blood pressure was also up a bit from usual (did’nt get the reading), which is unusual for me. Do you have any idea? Or even an idea of what I could search online for to maybe ellaborate? Thanks so much, have a great day!

hi, i’m 19 weeks 4 days pregnant, i was wondering if anyone knew if this is normal..
i recently bought a fetal doppler so i could hear my baby’s heartbeat whenever i wanted, and pretty much this whole week, the heartbeat is found in the same exact spot everyday-.. and that is very very low right above my pelvic bone i almost have to hold the doppler ON my pelvic bone to get a reading.. does that mean that the baby isnt moving around? i dont know what to think about this, please help

I went to see my midwife last Friday for my 16 week check-up and when she tried to listen to my baby’s heartbeat, she told me that my placenta is at the front which made it slightly more difficult to locate my baby’s heartbeat. Has anyone else had their placenta at the front and does it move as the baby grows bigger?
I also bought myself a fetal doppler from eBay. Are they any good?

I am now 8 weeks and was trying to use a fetal doppler, I know its alittle soon yet but was wondering if theres any reassurance by hearing other noises that may contribute to a live fetus w abeating heart such has placental sounds or something?? I believe I hear that but can’t find a heartbeat yet.. I wish to just have confirmation that something is alive here,, I still have to wait until middle of March for my first OB appt.

I had my 16 week check-up today and I haven’t had an ultrasound yet. My doctor only likes giving out one and she said I’ll get one at my next check-up. Well, the fetal doppler picked up a heartbeat on my lower right side and a heartbeat on my lower left side. Both heartbeats were strong and neither one was my heartbeat, but my doc assumed it was still just one baby because both heartbeats were in the 150’s. Oh and she also thinks its just one baby because I’m measuring right on track and have only gained 4 or 5 lbs. What do you think?
Oh and if anyone found out they were having twins afterall, were you measuring normally at first or were you much bigger?
I would be just excited for twins as I am for a single pregnancy…we have a 2 year old daughter now and are very excited to add a new addition/additions to the family! =)

At every ob appointment is it a must that u listen to the babys heartbeat until delivery? Also,If i get an ultrasound, will they also listen to the babys heartbeat that same day using the handheald fetal doppler (not the u/s machine)?
