I'm 16 weeks pregnant and I'm having cramps.?

I called the dr’s office and the nurse said that cramps are normal during this time and to only go into the emergency room if it comes along with bleeding which I’m not. She also said that since I heard the heart beat on my rented fetal doppler that the baby seems good and not in distress. These cramps just really hurt, even when I sneeze sometimes. Is this normal? Also when I press on the left side where I feel cramping the most, it hurts.

no baby movements for 24hours?

my baby hasn’t moved since about this time yesterday, im 19w6d, i used my fetal doppler and found the baby heartbeat, but im still a little worried, why might my baby not be moving?

I’m not even sure if they are movements even if this is my 3rd pregnancy. I was really traumatized by my 2nd pregnancy where I lost my baby at 32 weeks due to trisomy 13. It is just so scary. But yeah, I don’t really feel much maybe because I keep waiting to feel it? Maybe, I don’t know. We listened to the heartbeat from our home fetal doppler and found it after 5 mins. That eased my worries a little, but even so, I haven’t had my u/s yet and won’t have it until nov. 27 which is in two weeks! I do have my regular appointment next week though…. please advice. and only serious answers please. nothing smart as*.

I have just ordered a fetal doppler on ebay and hoping it will be with me by wednesday when i will be 13weeks exactly. im just wondering if people think i will be able to hear my baby’s heart beat then, i am the right weight for my height so not overweight. if you used one when did you 1st hear the heartbeat?

He’s there and he’s moving once in a blue. I have a fetal doppler and I listened to his heartbeat, it was in the 150’s. So he seems ok. He is just not moving as much as the day before yesterday. His kicks are also softer . .. is this normal?

Im 26 weeks pregnant

Hey There

I went for my first pre-natal exam today and it went well. They gave me all the info I needed, scheduled me for my first ultrasound and all that stuff. They gave me a pap test, and he felt around the uterus and said it was the right size for how far along I am.

So then he used the doppler to try and find a heartbeat, but couldn’t I could hear a distinctive whoosh noise, but no heartbeat. It should be here by now, right? Is there any reason to worry? He said not to, and that he’s probably just hiding right now, but no fetal heartbeat CAN be a sign of miscarriage, right?

I should have just asked him not to try yet:(
My ultrasound isn’t due until I’m 18 weeks along. So 7 more weeks. I have another pre-natal appointment in 4 weeks, in which the doctor was very confident and said "We’ll DEFINITELY hear it then"
also I’m overweight..that could be affecting it as well, right?

My last menstrual period was 10/10/07, I went to the doctor today and I went to get an ultra sound but the doctor said he only saw the sack but he didn’t see no fetal pole. He made an appointment with another ultrasound specialist to get a second opinion. My second opinion is next week and I’m really nervous. I’m scared and I don’t know what’s going on. They check for the heart beat with a Doppler and their is no heart beat. But the thing is that I don’t have symptoms of miscarriage. My hcg level are still there and my breast was in pain. I was wondering if any body can help with any information and ease my mind. I am in totally depress mode.
Thank you.

Ok i am 33 and a half weeks pregnant. Yesterday i was sent for a doppler ultrasound scan to check my baby for anemia because i tested positve for 5th disease and my amniotic fluids were high.

When we went yesterday the calculation was an MoM of 1.69 which is in the severe anemia range form what i gather. My doc decided to give me steroids incase of early delivery and scheduled me back today for another scan.

Well today the levels looked closer to normal but possibly still slightly elevated and led my doctor to believe yesterdays test may have been a false positive.

My question is what is most likely the case a false positve or false negative after a positive. Also, can fetal anemia vary that much daily. Could the reading have been accurate both times?

The tech said the baby was laying on her opposite side yesterday, could this have anything to do with the different numbers? I am very concerned and want to no what to expect when i go back friday for yet another scan.

The scan checks the blood flow in the middle cererbreal artary in the brain and they judge the anemia on how quickly the blood is flowing…apparantly the speed dropped in half from yesterday.

Hi there,
I am 11 weeks pregnant and due to a miscarriage in my last pregnancy I decided to purchase an angel sounds fetal doppler for sound of mind. We used it tonight and after 10 minutes found the sound of a heartbeat (sounds like the whooshing of a steady train). We timed this heartbeat and it was only 65 beats per minute - from the literature I have read babies heartbeats should be at least 120 BPM at the moment. Now I am worrying whether there is something wrong or if I have just picked up my own heartbeat? The position I found the heartbeat was above my pelvic bone to the RHS.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Thanks

Mrs B

Hard time finding fetal heartbeat?

Ok so about 2 weeks ago I went for a doctor appt. and heard baby heartbeat I was almost 12 weeks. Everything was fine. Well I have a doppler at home and I only have hear it very short but was fine now I can’t seem to find it. Im almost 13 weeks now. Is there a specific place I should be looking or position besides on back I should try?

I have a fetal doppler monitor and when I put it to my lower left abdomen real close to my pubic bone I hear that beautiful swooshing hearbeat that I heard with my first two pregnancies. With them I did not hear it until later (11 or 12 weeks). Is it possible that is what I am hearing now? What are the possibilities that I will miscarry now that I have heard that sweet sound? I have had two previous miscarriages, neither of which got to this stage…I am scared. Afraid to get happy for fear of getting "smacked" back into an awful reality…

Has anyone used a fetal scope?

I was watching a show and a lady on there was using a fetal scope, i was looking into it because i really wanted to purchase a doppler but i really don’t have the 500 dollars to get one, and the fetal scopes aren’t that expensive, so i was wondering if anyone has used a fetal scope? how well did it work? and how early can a fetal scope pick up the heartbeat? im currently 19 weeks pregnant, do you think it would pick it up right now? thanks in advance :) I would like to hear the heart beat because its my baby, i havent really felt any movements yet so i would like to put my mind at ease, its really none of your business y i wanna heart MY childs heart beat…its not going to hurt the baby…jeez…

We had the 22 sonography done some time back, Now, we got a huge bill from the sonography associates. its mentioned 1) OB Sono, Detail Fetal/Maternal EV
2) OB, Transvaginal
3) Doppler study
Are these all compulsary ( even when mother doesn’t have any disease like diabeties etc..)

Or is there any thing for which we can fight against this heavy bill?
Unfortunately , I have a deductible in my policy.. I have recently moved to US and so was not aware of this catch and now my insurance is asking me to pay the bills untill deductible is completely met and on top of this my deductible is an annual deductible that means I again have to pay for my bills next year in 2008 ( as pregnancy will be carried to the next yr as well)
The person who was performing ultra sound never mentioned that transvaginal ultra sound will not be included in the general ultrasound . All she mentioned was that she could not see the baby due to her position so has to perform transvaginal ultrasound and did it.

I thought that I would post this because I see this question alot on here. I think I answer it at least once a week so here is what I found.

The fetal heart
The embryonic heart starts beating 22 days after conception, or about five weeks after the last menstrual period, which by convention we call the fifth week of pregnancy. The heart at this stage is too small to hear, even with amplification, but it can sometimes be seen as a flickering in the chest if an ultrasound is done as early as four weeks after conception.

The Doppler instrument
After the 9th or 10th week after your last menstrual period, you might be able to hear your baby’s heartbeat at your prenatal appointment. Your obstetrical practitioner probably uses a Doppler instrument for this purpose, which bounces harmless sound waves off the fetal heart. By the 12th week, the heartbeat can usually be heard consistently, using the Doppler instrument for amplification.
Listening for the heartbeat without amplification
Starting at about 20 weeks, the heartbeat can be heard without Doppler amplification. A special stethoscope called a fetoscope can be used, or the bell (concave) side of a regular stethoscope can be pressed firmly onto your abdomen. The heartbeat is best heard over the baby’s back, which often seems firm when you feel around on the uterus. If you are overweight or if the placenta is on the front wall of the uterus, it may be difficult to hear the fetal heart by stethoscope. It gets easier later in the pregnancy.

Listening to the heartbeat at home
Some companies now sell Doppler-like instruments to hear the baby’s heartbeat at home. While this might sound like fun, keep in mind that you sometimes can have difficulty finding it, which you might find alarming. Or you might pick up your own heart, which is slower than the fetus’, and worry unnecessarily about how your baby is doing.

Is it worth buying a fetal doppler?

I am so tempted to buy a fetal doppler from Amazon. I would like to be able to hear the heart beat every so often between prenatal visits. Is it really worth it though? Or in the end just a waste of money?

‘m 21 weeks pregnant and yesterday I started feeling my baby move less. I felt him a lot on friday and then yesterday an today not as much . Also there not as strong feeling. Like friday they felt like strong popping bubbles in my tummy but the past two days they have just been light. I know he’s okay cause I have a fetal heart doppler and have heard his heartbeat but im just confused.?
I got my doppler off amazon. its The Pocket Fetal Doppler by Contec. Model: Sonoline B. It works great!

What do you think about this?

hey everyone!

I was thinking of getting a fetal heart doppler. i am 17 weeks.

i cannot decide which one to get atall?

id like to keep my eye on my bambino whilst he or she is cooking! i have been told and read on yahoo that its anything between 120 and 180 bpm is this correct and is this for any stage of pregnancy or does it vary as the weeks progress! i was ttc for 2+ years and get worried bout him/her! i know midwives dnt recomend mums2be to purchase these but temptation got the better of me after i heard the heart beat last week! many thanks for any answers!

I am 10 weeks pregnant, should I be worried?
Is this too low?

Anyone hear the heartbeat at 10 weeks?

I am going to rent the Hi Bebe fetal doppler again.

Last time I didn’t receive it until 12 weeks, but I picked her heartbeat up the same day.

Have many of you heard your babies heart at 10 weeks?

If not when did you hear it first.

I’m 8w2d and very anxious as lost my last baby at 19 week.

Thanks xx

When I wiped this morning. I have a fetal Doppler and checked for a heartbeat and it was there and strong. Could this be the start or a micarriage!?

Fetal heart beat 12weeks 3 days?

I am 12 weeks 3 days and at dr today he could not find heart beat with doppler - is this normal? When should they hear it?

Also I have tilted uterus - would this make a difference?

I went in for my first visit and we were able to hear the baby’s heartbeat with a doppler. Based on my last missed period and the doppler reading my OBGYN determined I was about 9 weeks 6 days, and we set my due date for November 17th.
However, when I had my ultrasound they pushed my due date back to December 3rd. That would have meant that I heard the babys heartbeat on a medical doppler at about 7 weeks, 6 days (The fetal age would be 5 weeks, 6 days). Is it possible to hear a babys heartbeat on a medical doppler when it is this younge? I feel like my due date might be too late now because I’ve heard its extremely hard to hear anything on the doppler before 10 weeks. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks :)

im 10 1/2 weeks pregnant, i could see a heartbeat on an ultrasound 3 or so weeks ago, but yesterday my doctor could not hear the heart beat on the fetal doppler. i have to go back in a week to see if she can hear it, and if not, i must have another ultrasound. is everything ok? is this normal?
