anyone rent a fetal doppler?
I’m thinking about renting one because we are high risk and I think it would put me at ease to be able to check on him whenever I feel uneasy about things.
Listen to your baby heartbeat from 8 weeks

ok…i told some people i would post my results from last night. i rented one from babybeat.com coupon code (HP04). i was 9 weeks 3 days yesterday. it took me less than 2 minutes to find the VERY FAST heartbeat! it helped when i angled the doppler head down. it was a cm (or less) above my pubic bone. AMAZING!!! my hubbie and i both said worth every penny! I did have an advantage b/c i got an ultrasound yesterday (to my surprise it was abdominal) so I knew exactly where the baby was. It is really good. After 2 m/c’s, I know this will help ease my anxiety between appointments! Feel free to share your experiences! I was able to easily get it again this morning…and yes…i will stop checking every 12 hours!

I recently purchased a doppler machine to check for my babys heartbeat at home. I heard it at 7 weeks from an u/s. I am now 10 weeks. I first tried it yesterday and got it right away. It was extremely fast, and I was so excited! My mother (who is an RN) decided to check for it as well when she stopped by because she is so excited about her grandbaby, and it took awhile but she got a clear fast heartbeat just like I got. Then later, when hubby got home, I wanted him to hear it with me, so I tried to find it again, and nothing! And then this morning, I did it once more and still nothing so my questions are..
1) Do you think it could be so ironic that the baby is fine at one minute and then something went wrong so fast?
2) Is it possible for the baby to be in such a position that you can hear it sometimes, and sometimes you cannot?
3) Is it possible that using the doppler TOO much could of caused a problem? (important question)
I will continue with more details.
4) Could I blame not hearing it later on it being too early yet for me at 10 weeks, even though I was able to detect it before?
Im starting to worry that something went wrong, as ironic as that would be. I appreciate any answers. Thank you!
my husband ordered me an angel sounds heart rate doppler off the internet as a surprise and i’m hoping he didn’t waste his money.. has anyone tried this brand? I’ve heard of so many brands that dont work.. thanks for your feedback!!
Has anyone ever used this doppler? If so, what are your thoughts and does it work well?
I bought this last week and it wasn’t working and all a sudden it is and my doctors think it is an amazing at home doppler but I can not seem to figure out how to record it to the computer like your suppose to be able to. If anyone out there has it could you let me know what you had to do. Technical support is taking forever.
Thanks in advance!
Well, Im 15 weeks and 5 days and I took it to the ob today and she found the heart beat right away and I did too and I love it. It works really well. They didn’t even use their machine today and just used mine and were super suprised.
How often did you ladies use your at home dopplers? The one I have is FDA approved. i would like to use it once a day just for a quick second just for reassurance since i had a miscarriage before. I am worried about harming the baby. I am 17 weeks. Thank you.
The past couple of times that I’ve used my fetal doppler I’ve noticed a swishing sound that I can’t identify, in addition to my vessels, static, and of course, the baby’s heartbeat. It happens whenever the probe is still, so I know it’s not due to me moving the probe too fast. It’s not a rhythmic sound, and it comes and goes; frankly, it almost sounds like something is passing in front of the probe. The manual that came with my doppler says that it can sometimes pick up fetal movement, but I’ve no idea what that sounds like. On top of that, I’m only 12 weeks (11 when I first heard that swishing). Any ideas? Could it be my organs? Or could it be baby?
I’ve just checked for my baby’s heartbeat & heard something over to the right hand & left hand side of my stomach. sounded like a heartbeat.
Do you think it was the baby’s
Is it possible it could have been my heartbeat, it was right down in my womb
im 19w 4 days

thanks for any help!
=D

After much reviewing i found alot of people rate this product as good!
Well im looking to buy one from Amazon, its about £20 for the doppler and gel.
Im currently 8 weeks pregnant, but by the time it arrives will i be a bit further along.
Im also size 14/16 as i heard size and weight factors in with it.
So would those of you that have used this product be able to answer these questions..
1. Firstly, what is your opinion?
2. How many weeks were you when you first heard little ones heartbeat with it?
3. And if you dont mind, what size are you roughly?
Thank you in advance for helping me
Does anyone know how to use the cable to record the baby’s heartbeat on to my computer? I’m stumped! Thanks!
And it is absolutely wonderful!
I am 19 weeks pregnant with my first…I hear the baby’s heart beat about 3x’s a day and I have noticed that I hear the heart beat extremely low in my abdomen. It’s like just above my pubic bone. Is this normal?
I have been able to hear my baby’s heartbeat on my doppler since 10 week. I’ll be 12 weeks tomorrow. Well here is the thing my baby is up a little higher then he was at 10 weeks, i read that he is 2 1/2 inches. My question is can you get the heartbeat in more then one spot? Because I am picking one up on the left and right side down by my pupic bone only a little higher. The heartbeats are about 2 1/2 inches apart. So can I hear the heart beat of the baby in the 2 places if he is sprawled out like his head is on the left side, and his feet are on the right side. Or do you think it could be two different heartbeats, like twins?
When I went to the doctors she moved so quickly she found a heartbeat in one spot and left it at that.
Twins run in my family, so I’m a little nervouse.
Can anyone help me?
And no it was not my heart beat or the blood from the placenta, I know the differences. They were both the fast horse racing heart beats.
I NEED HELP CHOOSEING WHEATHER I SHOULD BUY A FETAL DOPPLER OR NOT . AND IF YOU THINK SO , WHICH ONE OF THESE ONES SHOULD I GET ????

My husband just bought a fetal doppler for us to listen to the heartbeat. Took a little patience (and a full bladder!), but I was able to pick it up (9w 6d)! However, I seem to need a lot of gel to get a clear sound. The booklet suggested using a quarter-sized dab, and with that amount I got a lot of static. (I need about three times that much!) I read somewhere that you can use aloe vera gel instead, since my doppler only came with a 60g bottle of ultrasound gel, and I don’t know how fast I’ll go through it (since I seem to need so much per test). So anyway,
Has anyone here tried using aloe vera gel instead of ultrasound gel? Does it work or is it bunk? If it worked for you, does it matter what kind of gel it is? (My husband has a big bottle of it, but it’s not pure aloe vera, and it has little bubbles in it like hair gel, and I do know that ultrasound doesn’t travel well through air. Would those air bubbles cause any problems?)
Thanks, everyone!
Hi, Jill- I was thinking the same thing at first, but I’m positive it was the baby’s heart because initially all I could find was my uterine arteries (way too loud and slow to be the baby’s), then with a little patience I found the baby’s, very low, at 168.
Oops, in my last detail I forgot to add that I was familiar with what my uterine arteries sounded like because last week, when the midwife tried to find my baby’s heartbeat, she could only find my arteries (I had lotion on, so all she could pick up was static). I also checked clips online to familiarize myself with what the baby’s heartbeat should sound like. It was a very low volume sound, but definitely there.
Are there any stores like Target, Walmart etc that have decently priced, quality fetal dopplers? Or even a good online website? Also, what brands are good to buy? Im not looking to spend over for one. Thanks
Hi everyone, so I recently posted a question asking about how I could tell if my current pregnancy is still ongoing and a lot of responses I received were talking about a fetal/pregnancy doppler. I’m from canada and today I went and asked a few pharmacists if they have ever heard of that and none of them have. So how would I gain access to a fetal/pregnancy doppler? Thanks.
I am currently 10 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I tried using the doppler hoping to hear my baby’s heartbeat but could not find anything. I have been using it for around 10 minutes but nothing, although I could be doing something wrong because it is the first time I used it. It said wait until 12 weeks, but according to the reviews I read, women were able to hear the heartbeat before 12 weeks. I am worried because my second baby was stillborn. Should I go see my doctor or should I wait until next week?
This is what I bought http://www.amazon.com/FDA-APPROVED-Fetal-Prenatal-Doppler/dp/B001OXRHOE/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_i
It’s a month. Will it still work well? Thanks!
