16 weeks, should i be feeling my baby move?
Im 16 weeks pregnant, and people keep saying because this is my 4th pregnancy i should be feeling movement now. And im not. I have a fetal doppler at home and listen to its heartbeat. I lost my little girl at 20 weeks pregnant last year, so im really scared this time. And this is making me more anxious as to why im not feeling it move around. Thank you in advance. x
No im not overweight. But i have had a lot of trapped wind and terrible constipation. Tmi sorry. x

Just because this is your fourth baby, doesn’t mean you should be feeling anything. If by 22 weeks you haven’t, then I would be concerned. People love to put their 2 cents in (isn’t that why we’re on Yahoo Answers). You know your body, and you do what you think is best. If you have concerns, talk to your doc. It sounds like a normal pregnancy to me. Just smile and nod at everyone who wants to "help" you. I am sorry so for your loss, I hope that you are blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby!
Everyone’s different. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. I felt mine move at 18.5 weeks.
I cant comment on a 4th pregnancy but i am pregnant with my third and I was about 17 weeks before i could feel movements. i wouldnt worry, if you got a fetal doppler and you can hear the heart beat okay then you have nothing to worry about. Stop stressing. I know how you feel, I worry about all them sort of things aswell
Every baby is completetly different its normally 16-22 weeks is classed as "normal" to feel your baby move. I was 21 weeks when i first felt my baby move but the doctors resured me that was fine.
Dont worry too much if you really are concerned go to your GP or midwife…
No, it’s less likely, though possible to feel your baby at 16. I felt my son at 18 weeks because it was during an ultrasound, and my second son I "think" I felt him move at 17 weeks, and that’s what I told myself, but I was never Sure until well after that.
That sure is nice to have that doppler! Wow, great idea! Just don’t feel anxious, it’s unlikely to feel it at 16 weeks, and even if you thought you did, it’s so faint it would be hard to be sure.
Everyone is different. They say that women will start to feel movements from 16-20 weeks. Which means that sometime between 16-20wks you will feel movement. You may not start feeling them until next week or the week after. SOme women wont feel them until their 20th week. And new moms may not know that they are feeling their baby because they mistake it for gas bubbles. And thats what it will feel like at first. Little butterfly flutters, gass bubble pops, popcorn popping feelings, and maybe even like muscle spasms. And they wont be consistent until you are later in pregnancy. I will be 18 weeks on monday and ive been feeling little movements, but there are days I don’t feel anything. Especially if Im moving around alot and on my feet. But when Im working nights and im sitting for long periods of time, thats when I feel my baby. I get worried to because I lost one a 16wks. So, don’t worry. You can here its heartbeat, and thats good. Its still got a lot of room to move in there. When I went to the doctor at my 16wk checkup when she went to listen to hear the heartbeat she had to chase it down because it was moving all over the place, but I couldn’t feel it. So, don’t worry. In a couple more weeks you will be feeling it. Good luck and congrats.
I can imagine how scared you must feel after your terrible loss, so I think this calls for a call to the doctor. Listen to the heartbeat at the office and let them tell you how things look to give you some reassurance. I’m pretty sure the doctor will be understanding and won’t have any problems giving you the peace you need. Don’t be afraid to ask and don’t worry about bothering the doctors. Their job is to help you bring your baby into the world safely.
Whether or not you feel the movement at 16 weeks depends on you and your body. Are you overweight? Have you been gassy this pregnancy at all? Those things could definitely keep you from feeling the baby by now. It doesn’t mean something is wrong. Or maybe your baby is just active when you’re sleeping.
I know you will worry anyway, you’re a mommy…it’s what we do. But do try to relax, see your doctor if you need/want to, and just try not to scare yourself into thinking about all the what ifs.
I wish you a healthy and happy pregnancy.
everyone is different, i am 15 weeks with my 4th baby and have only felt a couple of little butterflies, and that has not been on a daily basis either, your baby may be more active while you are sleeping and at this stage is not strong enough to wake you, as long as your midwife and yourself are hearing a regular heartbeat don’t worry about it, you’ll start to feel your little one soon, even if it isn’t until around 20 or 22 weeks, i know someone who is 18 weeks with her 8th baby (yes 8th and I’m not joking!) and she still cant feel her baby moving yet, don’t worry hun I’m sure things Will be ok this time, keep attending any appointments u have with ur midwife and stay positive.. best of luck xx
i felt my first move at 4months 1wk & 4days
& my twins move at 3months 3wks & 3days
but it all depends my midwife didnt believe me with the twins but oh welxx
