I am almost 15 weeks pregnant and still not able to detect my baby’s heartbeat on my fetal doppler. My dr. was able to detect it weeks ago. I hear al ot of thumping and swooshing. Could that be my baby moving? Am I using it right? Are there any tricks? I am not very overweight just a little bit.

Bought one of these & I was NEVER able to hear my son’s heartbeat =(
The ones from walmart and stuff usually dont work good until like 30 weeks i heard.
I rent mine from BabyBeat.com for 18 dollars a month and have listened to the HB every night since 13 weeks 3 days. There is one you can get for 30 a month that you can RECORD the heartbeat and save it on your computer. It’s great.
EDIT- By the way, the ones on BabyBeat.com are professional ones that doctors offices and midwives use, and you have to put your doctors name and phone number on there. I don’t think they actually call, but they are the real thing and very sensitive.
Sometimes they have trouble finding the heartrate with a doppler up to 20 weeks - If you are very concerned, call your doctor and ask him to do a non-stress test. The hospital equipment is much more sensitive, will pick up a heartbeat if it’s there and will also tell you if the baby is in any danger - It only takes about 20 minutes and the peace of mind it may give you is worth it!
