11 weeks pregnant in minor car accident?
I was in a minor car accident last night. My sister hit a car in front of us at about 5 mph. It left a dent on the other womans car to get the idea of how hard the hit was. Now my question is, at 11 weeks pregnant, could that accident have harmed my baby? I used my fetal doppler this morning and heard the heartbeat and I’m not having cramps or bleeding. I called my doctor and she told me not to go in. She said at 11 weeks, it’s too early to do anything anyway, but that the baby is very protected in the stomach at this stage. Does this sound right? Isn’t there a chance for placental abruption?
Thank you guys…Just the few answers I got have put my mind at ease. I was fine this morning after hearing the heartbeat, but then I read stuff on the internet and it get me all worried.

Hon. stop stressing yr little ‘jelly bean’ & that’s about the size ATM will be fine. As long as you are not having any pain, bleeding etc. yr Dr. is very wise. Please settle yr anxiety as that can cause alsorts of problems for you.
To have a placental abruption you’d probably need to be in a serious car wreck like a head-on-rear end all @ the same time. Look after yourself. Godbless.
No. As long as there no bleeding or cramps…everything should be okay. If you are still concerned, have your doctor do a quick sonogram to make sure.
Do not take stress at this time as that can be harmful for your baby.

You have a smart doctor. Everything she said is correct. The baby sounds perfect, heart beat, no bleeding, no cramps - no more worries!!!
because you have heard the heartbeat everything should be ok & since you have your 12/13 week scan soon theres nothing yor MW can do until then
As your doctor told you, your baby is very, very well protected at this early stage in pregnancy. This and the slow speed of the crash mean that it’s extremely unlikely your baby will have been harmed or affected in any way. Please try not to worry, and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
when i was 3 months pregnant i was in a car accident… i was the passenger and some van hit our car from the passenger side… our car flipped twice and went into on comming traffic, i am not kidding when i say THANK GOD FOR SEAT BELTS… i literally walked away with a few scratches and a bloody hand from my hand going through the window. I had to be transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital… my baby was totally fine!! nothing was wrong with her! people kept telling me to look for signs of something wrong with her as she gets older.. NOTHING shes perfect, smart and a very happy little girl…i’m sure your okay! especially if your Dr. is saying don’t worry!
